New Online application system launched for obtaining an Irish Visa

Dubai, United Arab Emirates , 9th August 2009 - The Visa Office in Dubai (located in the Monarch Business Tower, Sh Zayed Road) currently processes visa applications for UAE residents. Residents of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Qatar should submit their applications to the Embassy of Ireland in Riyadh, and residents of Bahrain and Oman should submit their applications to the local Irish Honorary Consuls.

Tourism Ireland, the official overseas Marketing office for Ireland and Northern Ireland is pleased to announce the launch of the new online visa application system in the GCC. Travellers to the Republic of Ireland can now apply online for a visa at
https://www.visas.inis.gov.ie/avats/OnlineHome2.aspx. Instructions in how to complete the application are available in seven languages including Arabic and English.

The new process will provide travellers to the Republic of Ireland with a more convenient means of attaining the required documentation for travel to Ireland, whilst at the same time simplifying the process. All applications must now be made online, and then be submitted along with the required documentation to the appropriate Irish Embassy, Honorary Consul or Visa Office. The Irish Ambassador in Riyadh, Niall Holohan, stated: "the new process will greatly reduce the effort required to obtain a visa - the purpose is to ensure that visitors will enjoy their trip to Ireland even more, whether they are travelling for business or pleasure".
